What the hell? With a name like this, you’d expect dance-y electropop, and that’s exactly what you’ll find on Seattle’s Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head’s debut LP, “Glistening Pleasure.” Song after song, the album is high-energy without being high-fructose: It’s dance music for adults, and there’s no good reason not to like this record. “Me + Yr Daughter” is all about dating a girl’s parents, and it’s funny and fun. You can check it out as one of the two mp3s below. They’re touring with CSS, and one listen makes it easy to see why.

i’ve been a fan of these guys for awhile, since they’ve been playing shows around seattle for a few years. They’re great, i’ve seen them live about 4 times in the past 2 years. my only complaint is that they havent written that many new songs in that time, and i know I shouldnt complain, since what they have written is great, but their set is usually about the same.
what i love about their live shows though is how they do creative things, like throw otter pops into the crowd or during “sophisticated side ponytail” break the crowd in half and have one half sing “I do i do” and the ohter sing “it’s true it’s true” during the chorus.
