That’s semi-not “Swing Low Sweet Chariot” by the Gossip–it’s “Swing Low” from their first record. (But of course it has tons of Sweet Chariot references).
I’ve never heard this live cover, and it’s AWESOME!! Any chance the whole concert might pop up sometime soon??

A change is gonna come is actually by sam cooke–although it’s acquired “traditional” status by now, he’s still the original behind it.

I absolutely love that We Are Scientists cover. Saw them perform live this fall, and was sorry they didn’t do it. Thanks for all this new stuff to check out though! For more Girl Group covers, check this out: http://covermesongs.blogspot.com/2008/02/girl-groups.html

Thanks for including “Hot Fun in the Summertime” by Sly and the Family Stone on your list. It is a great song. I talk about this song and many others by Sly and the Family Stone in my book, SLY: The Lives of Sylvetser Stewart and Sly Stone. Check it out at http://www.lulu.com/content/1412956.
