Well, the label was so grateful that they want to give you those records! One lucky reader will get both Two Hours Traffic and Parkas, on CD.

To win, drop me a comment or send me an e-mail with your e-mail address and the name of a recent indie recording (any genre) that I haven’t reviewed but need to be aware of!

Winner will be picked on August 9th.

And ’cause the label was generous, I’m being generous. Here’s a few tunes for y’all:

I’ve been curious about a recent Townes Van Zandt tribute album There’s A Hole In Heaven Where Some Sin Slips Through from Glitterhouse Records. It’s got a recording of “If I Needed You” by Willard Grant Conspiracy (who you have just recently reviewed) as well as “Highway Kind” by Ben Weaver, and “Kathleen” by the Tindersticks. I know reviewing tribute albums is probably not very high on your list, but I’m dying to hear if it’s even halfway decent. To be honest, if you don’t review though… I probably will.

Although, I will have to get off my ass and buy it.

I hope you’re getting emails about this, because I was hoping someone would suggest something totally AWESOME from a band I’ve never heard of before. That is why I come here, after all.

Hey you should check out The age of rockets. http://www.myspace.com/ageofrockets. They are a electronic, kind of postal service like band from New York I believe.

Astoundingly, Stu, almost nobody is interested in getting these free CDs. Sad, really, because they’re both very good releases (especially The Parkas).
